Marina Vargas was born in Granada (Spain) in 1980. She studied Fine Arts and received her master’s degree in Production and Research in Art at the University of Granada. A truly versatile artist, she tackles the different branches of art such as drawing, painting, sculptural painting, sculpture, photography, video art and installation among others. Her work explores the relationship between opposing feelings: love-hate, attraction-rejection, empathy-apathy, closeness and distance, the absurdity of human existence, death, among other topics.

In speaking about her work Marina remarks, “I try to create in my context my own code of images, trying to structure my identity with them, that is to say – my being in time – as if everything external printed or transpired inside me with the intention of building a parallel universe or habitat”.
